At Anglo Scottish Asset Finance we’re dedicated to assisting businesses in significantly reducing their energy expenditures through the provision of cost-effective asset finance solutions.
By offering tailored financial packages, we enable companies to invest in energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources, thereby promoting sustainability and long-term savings. An example of this is our work with Ambic Manufacturing.
Ambic Manufacturing, a furniture producer located in the North-East of England, encountered unsustainable energy expenses as prices escalated. Specialising in custom contract furniture for diverse industries, Ambic recognised that generating its own energy was essential to maintain competitiveness. Initially, the company contemplated a modest investment in solar panels using its own capital. However, they soon realised that a more significant investment could allow them to achieve full energy self-sufficiency.
Anglo Scottish’s Contribution to Solar Financing Solutions
Ambic contacted Charlotte Enright, our Renewable Specialist, to investigate their options. Anglo Scottish performed a comprehensive financial analysis and determined that Siemens Financial Services (SFS) could provide the optimal financing solution.
Charlotte and the Anglo Scottish team developed a financing package that distributed the solar panel investment cost over a seven-year period. This arrangement was designed so that the energy savings from the solar panels would offset nearly the entire initial investment cost.
Taking into account Ambic’s existing energy expenditures, Anglo Scottish, in partnership with SFS, crafted a financing solution that spread the investment cost across a seven-year term. This plan was structured to ensure that the savings generated from the solar panels would almost completely offset the initial investment. Furthermore, Ambic has successfully maintained lower electricity costs compared to previous levels while managing the debt associated with the new asset.
The Impact of Solar Panels on Ambic’s Energy Usage
With the installation of the new solar panel system, Ambic Manufacturing has successfully reduced its electricity expenses compared to previous levels, despite managing the debt associated with the new asset. This change has eased the financial strain imposed by escalating energy prices.
The effective installation and financing of the solar panels have enabled Ambic to uphold its reputation for high-quality and durable manufacturing while maintaining its commitment to sustainability. By extending the payment period, the company has successfully reduced its electricity costs significantly, even as it manages the debt associated with the new solar panel asset. This strategic financial approach has not only stabilised their energy expenses but also released essential capital that can now be directed towards other vital areas of the business.
By reallocating funds, Ambic has been able to invest in advanced technologies, improve production capabilities, and pursue new market opportunities, thus promoting further growth and securing the company’s long-term competitiveness and sustainability within the industry.
Liam Hunt, Managing Director at Ambic, commented:
“Communication throughout the whole process was fantastic. Charlotte Enright at Anglo Scottish and SFS looked at what we needed and created a bespoke solution for us which met our needs entirely and made the whole process a lot easier.”
With the new solar installation, Ambic is expecting to save £1.94 million over 25 years, and eventually transition to 100% renewable energy.
The Future of Sustainable Manufacturing with Renewable Energy
Ambic’s journey highlights the significant advantages of investing in renewable energy for manufacturing enterprises. By utilising creative financing solutions, businesses can surmount the challenge of substantial upfront expenses and make meaningful progress towards sustainability.
As more companies emulate Ambic’s example, the future of manufacturing appears progressively sustainable, with renewable energy being crucial in lowering expenses and ensuring energy autonomy.
